In a Class A quarterfinal matchup, Greater Beckley Christian (GBC) leveraged their significant size advantage, primarily through senior Drew Fitzwater's dominant performance, to secure a 60-52 victory over Huntington St. Joseph. Fitzwater's 22 points, 16 of which came in the second half, and 14 rebounds proved crucial, as GBC consistently fed him the ball inside, especially after halftime. Despite shooting inefficiencies, GBC's offensive rebounding and fewer turnovers allowed them to maintain control. Huntington St. Joseph, led by Isaiah Sanders and Micaiah Ehirim, struggled with turnovers and couldn't capitalize on their higher shooting percentage. GBC's ability to consistently find Fitzwater in the post and their strong rebounding led to a decisive advantage in paint points. GBC now advances to face top-seeded Tug Valley in the semifinals.
