Game Recap: Wheeling Central vs. Williamstown
Season 3, Episode 9

Sports
Wheeling Central Catholic secured an impressive 9-0 victory over Williamstown, fueled by a stellar performance from sophomore Zayne Rosnick. Rosnick pitched a two-hit shutout, facing minimal batters over the limit without issuing any walks, while also contributing significantly on offense with four singles, a sacrifice fly, and four runs batted in. His pitching dominance, where he consistently threw strikes, simplified the game for his coach. The Maroon Knights' offense built steadily, scoring the initial runs in the first and third innings before adding three runs in both the fifth and sixth. Every player in Wheeling Central's lineup reached base, with notable contributions from Braxton Billick and Luke Tiu, who each had two hits, and Gary Hatfield, who reached base four times and scored three runs. This win marks their third in as many days, improving their undefeated record to 8-0 against a challenging schedule that includes a victory over Class AAAA No. 2 Hurricane. The coach emphasized the intentional difficulty of their schedule to prepare the team for adversity. Notably, this win is the first for Wheeling Central at Williamstown, a significant achievement against a regional rival that defeated them last season, despite both teams moving up to Class AA this year. Williamstown's offense was limited to two hits from Jackson Melonas and Carson Hill, with Tyler Keiser starting on the mound before being relieved by Wyatt Powell and Melonas.
